The group debuted on March 29, 2007. In 2008, Jiyoung joined the group after member Kim Sunghee decided to leave. At the time of her admission, she was only 14 years old making her the youngest member of the group which was previously Nicole Jung. The group eventually made their return with Rock U. Their comeback saw a change in the group's original "sexy and mature" image to a "cute and playful" appeal.

On December 4, 2008, the group started their comeback on M! Countdown with "Pretty Girl".[2] In February 2009, the group released their second mini-album "Honey". "Honey" became the group's first #1 single when it topped the M! Countdown and The Music Trend.[3]
